My day is so full, how do I make time for myself?
what I tried….
I set my alarm clock for a half an hour before Ray got up. I would use the time to do something for myself or even just sit quietly and think to myself. It was some peace before the rush rush of the day began. A time for me to check in with myself and listen to my inner voice.
what I said….
“Time for me is really important and necessary. My caring role is demanding but I need to find a way to get a little bit of time just for me.” I wasn’t a morning person but it was the only way I could think to get some time just for me. I made the decision to try it out and still continue it today.
what I thought about….
I needed some space, some quiet time just for me. I wasn’t feeling like myself and had no time to organise my thoughts. I wanted to find a way to to make this happen.
A bit about my me & my caring situation
Carla cared for her husband Ray who had a violent stroke at the age of 49. She was supported by her adult daughter and close family to care for Ray full time at home for a number of years.
